As part of our project #outoflanga, which plans to find out paths and places outside the borders of the Langhe and Roero, we went to discover the paths around Gavi, the Neirone waterfall and the fortress.

Unfortunately, the weather was bad, a light fog has accompanied us throughout the tour, only at the end the sun has made its appearance.

Our tour

A very varied tour that starts from Capriata d’Orba and runs along the Lemme Torrent up to Gavi and then returns to the starting point passing through beautiful ridge roads between the vineyards.
It starts from the village of Capriata d’Orba, first part quite flat in meadows that border the stream. Once in Gavi, we will take the path that runs along the Fortress to see the Neirone waterfall. Very beautiful falls to rest and to do a break to eat something and take some pictures.

Unfortunately, given the weather conditions, the fortress was shrouded in clouds and we decided not to go to visit it (we will be back). After having lunch at Gavi, we start in the first place with a climb on asphalt and then start a beautiful ups and downs on the ridges in the woods and vineyards. During the return journey, we also met this little waterfall (photo on the top left)

This trail is about 50 km long, it does not present any particular difficulty and there are no pushed sections (except for a few small climbs for 10/15 seconds).
